Job Title: Country Café Co-ordinator
Location: This is an on-site role working Monday to Friday at our beautiful location in the village of Market Overton, Rutland.
Job Type: Full Time – 40 hours per week (08:30 – 17:00)
Working Pattern: Seasonal rota (Tuesday–Saturday in summer, Monday–Friday in winter)
Salary: £30,497 per annum (Pay Point 12)

About us –
The Lodge Trust CIO is a Christian charity based in Market Overton, Rutland, providing supported living, residential care, day opportunities, and work-based activities for adults with learning disabilities. Our mission is to create a community where people are valued, encouraged, and empowered to live life to the full.

Our 20-acre rural site includes homes, workshops, a café, gardens, woodland, and a camping and caravan site. Rooted in Christian values of compassion, respect, and kindness, we seek to create a welcoming community where dignity, independence, and personal growth are encouraged.
 
Role Purpose - 

This role involves providing practical, emotional and personal care support while helping service users develop new skills, engage in community activities and participate in Creative Enterprises. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Work and Education Services team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the daily operation of the café, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming service
  • Deliver strong financial performance, with a focus on achieving and exceeding break-even
  • Provide visible front-of-house leadership, setting high standards for customer experience
  • Support and develop residents and service users through meaningful, person-centred work opportunities
  • Coach individuals in hospitality skills such as food preparation, customer service, and teamwork
  • Manage stock, ordering, cost control, and waste reduction effectively
  • Plan and deliver seasonal menus, events, and promotions in collaboration with the wider team
  • Ensure the café environment is clean, safe, and well-presented at all time
  • Maintain full compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and care standards
  •  Line manage and support café staff, fostering a positive and accountable team culture
  • Handle customer queries and feedback professionally and confidently
  • Maintain accurate records and support administrative and compliance processes

What we’re looking for:

  • An experienced and motivated individual with a background in hospitality, catering, or café management
  • A confident leader who can inspire and manage a team while delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, costs, and performance
  • A genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to develop skills and independence
  • A calm, practical approach with the ability to work under pressure and make decisions
  • Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills
  • A flexible and positive attitude, with a willingness to adapt to seasonal demands
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in food hygiene, safety, and compliance
  • A respectful, person-centred approach aligned with dignity and inclusion
