About Us
The Lodge Trust CIO is a Christian charity based in Market Overton, Rutland, providing supported living, residential care, day opportunities, and work-based activities for adults with learning disabilities. Role Purpose
As a Flexible Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities. You will promote independence, wellbeing, and dignity while supporting residents with daily living tasks, including personal care and medication.
This role is key in ensuring a safe, homely environment for residents, particularly during evenings, nights, and weekends. You will work closely with colleagues to deliver consistent, compassionate support while contributing to the Christian ethos of the organisation, including supporting optional spiritual activities such as evening prayers.
Flexibility is essential, as the role includes unsocial hours, with an expectation of regular weekend and night shifts (typically 3 out of 4 weekends per month).
Key Responsibilities
• Provide compassionate, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, promoting independence and dignity
• Administer medication safely in line with policies and training
• Build positive, trusting relationships with residents
• Support individuals to develop life skills and access the community
• Promote residents’ wellbeing, rights, and personal choice
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately
• Support care planning and reviews alongside senior staff
• Contribute to residents’ spiritual wellbeing in line with the organisation’s ethos
Weekend & Night Responsibilities
• Ensure continuity of care during evenings, nights, and weekends
• Provide a calm, reassuring presence to maintain residents’ safety and wellbeing
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations
• Carry out household duties during quieter periods (e.g., cleaning, laundry, tidying communal areas)
